The Diploma in English Language Teaching to Adults (Delta) is an advanced, professional level teacher training qualification made up of three modular certificates, which you can take at different times and through different modes (online, blended and face-to-face options).
To become Delta qualified, you must pass all three modules and it is recommended you begin with Module One. There is no time limit for completing the three modules. Delta combines practical teaching elements with a strong theoretical background focusing on:
- Module 1: Understanding language, methodology and resources for teaching
- Module 2: Developing professional practice
- Module 3: Extending practice and ELT specialism
The course is for teachers who passed their CELTA qualification at least one year previously and ideally had two years’ EFL teaching experience. You should not apply for the Delta if you have not already gained experience in EFL teaching.
Also, the course is for teachers who plan to make a career in English language teaching or move into other roles e.g. Director of Studies, Teacher Trainer, etc.
